Cho Ku Rei Ranch   was founded in 2007 for the purpose of protecting the land and the Rio Grande Aquifer; a part of our artesian water. We are a family owned and operated Yak ranch and hay farm. We raise the yak on 2400 acres of native grass for them to graze. We raise our Tibetan Yak with sustainability and nature in mind. They graze on 400 to 600 acres at a time, grass fed by our native hay fields, and never given antibiotics or hormones.  Having a similar philosophy as the Native Americans, we strive to use every part of the Yak. We comb out their fiber in the spring, collecting and processing it into soft, warm roves, which can then be turned into a hat, gloves, or a scarf. We also preserve the pelts, leather, and skulls. The meat is up to 97% lean, and full of omega 3’s and B vitamins. Because of our belief in happy animals, and healthy food, our ranch has always been GMO free, and organic. Welcome to Cho Ku Rei Yak Ranch! Home of the happy Yak!
